Travel can take its toll, however, it does not need to compromise our well-being.  Check out our latest blog post for a few on-the-go strategies for optimal health. 

Travel preparations

  1. Be Prepared: The more clean and nutritious options we have available, the less likely we are to fall into the high-sugar, high-carb traps of convenience stores or airport markets. Before your trip, try packing a snack bag full of healthy alternatives. Some of our favorite travel snacks are: clean well-rounded bars, grass fed jerky, organic mixed nuts, and of course Zsweet so we can skip out on sweeteners or syrups in our coffee and tea! In addition to having wholesome food and drink choices, it’s always a good idea to give our immune systems a little extra love. Packing supplements and taking them before, during, and after your trip will help counteract any stress on the body caused by being on the go. Some of our go-to immunity boosters are: Astragalus, a room-temperature stable probiotic, and a digestive enzyme.
  2. Hydrate: Drink more water then you think you need. Then fill it up again. Traveling dehydrates us at a rapid pace. Even though being on the road is tiring and we may be tempted to reach for an extra caffeine or sugar boost, try and opt for H2O over coffee or artificial alternatives that will dehydrate us further. We recommend bringing your own reusable water bottle and filling it frequently. (Make sure it’s BPA, cadmium, phthalate, PVC, & lead free!). 
  3. Everything in Moderation: The chances of being able to eat completely clean and take all of our preventative supplements while traveling are slim. So our last recommendation is a two step process: moderation & relaxation. We can make smart choices while ordering out, maybe opting to include veggies, clean proteins, and good fats in our meals whenever possible. Or when ordering cocktails go for soda water as a mixer and use Zsweet to sweeten instead of a syrup or high sugar juice/soda! But perhaps most importantly, relax. You’re on vacation!
